Bringing a taste of New York to Toronto!!!
The
black and white cookie, a New York City classic made famous by an
episode of Seinfeld, is something that New York City residents swear
by. There's something really special about a black and white cookie.
In fact, it's not a regular cookie at all. It's a cake recipe that's
been adapted to create a unique light and moist, spongy cake-like
style cookie, which is covered in half vanilla fondant and half
chocolate. When local Chef Jesse Zanuttini of Cravings Cuisine tried
one for the first time, he instantly fell in love with this half
cake, half cookie delicacy. Only to discover when he wanted one
a few months later, there were none true to the original to be found
in Toronto. This is what inspired him to recreate this classic for
Toronto residents. Jesse worked his culinary magic, and along with
some secrets passed down from a legendary New York City baker, he's
now perfected the Big Cookie from the Big Apple for all of us here
to enjoy! As Jerry Seinfeld once said, "Look to the cookie!!!"
