Savour Gourmet Food & Wine Expo

Gourmet Food & Wine Expo
November 18 – 21, 2010
Metro Toronto Convention Centre
South Building, Downtown Toronto

This year’s Gourmet Food & Wine Expo promises to be the best yet. Visitors will experience a cavalcade of more than 1,500 wines, beers and spirits alongside gourmet delicacies from top Toronto chefs.

An enduring highlight, the Vintages Tutored Tastings program offers guests unrivalled access to the world’s finest wines led by notable wine experts such as John Szabo, Zoltan Szabo and Christopher Waters. Other hosts for our popular classroom-style presentations include top industry professionals including Gord Stimmell, Kevin Brauch and Tony Aspler. Tutored Tastings tickets include VIP entrance admission into the Expo.

On the show floor, we invite you to explore the world of food and wine at your leisure. Located in the heart of the Expo, the 2,500 square foot feature pavilion will reveal award-winning selections from the 2010 InterVin International Wine Awards. An esteemed panel of wine celebrities and experts selected these top-scoring bottles. Check out InterVin.ca and join our e-newsletter to receive updates.

The Fine Wine Tasting Lounge offers some incredible, hard to find wines available direct through their agency. This is a great opportunity to taste fabulous, rarely-served-by-the-glass wines and stock your cellar for decades!

The Connoisseur’s Corner Stage beside the onsite LCBO offers informal, first-come, first-served education and sampling led by professional Independent Wine Education Guild instructors.

Foodies will no doubt be inspired by a star-studded culinary brigade, including the elite Nine of Dine chefs, who will share the latest and greatest recipes, tips and samples of their award worthy cuisine on the Food Network Stage. The Dairy Farmers of Canada Cheese Stage present nibbles of knowledge about the best of Canadian fromage. Some of the city’s best chefs present sample-sized creations of signature dishes throughout the expo alongside other delicious provisions.

Other Expo highlights include the Spiritology Pavilion, which teaches cocktail enthusiasts how to prepare the season’s hottest libations. Join host Len Fragomeni, the Dean of Mott’s Clamato Caesar School, for a hands-on workshop in creating Canada’s National Cocktail – with a twist!

The Fine Scotch Tasting Lounge offers ample opportunity to savour the finest in single malt and blended scotch and rye whiskeys. Let this century old spirit add some warmth to your upcoming holiday celebrations.

New to the Expo this year is the ultra-exclusive Gourmet Gala on Friday night at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Be among the first to discover the Top 10 InterVin wineries of the year and mix and mingle with an impressive list of Canada’s leading wine experts. Delight your palate with six exquisite courses each paired with two incredible InterVin gold medal-winning wines. Get tickets now before it’s too late. Friday November 19 – 5:30-9pm.
